Spunbonded non-woven fabric is a type of non-woven fabric, usually referring to polyester and polypropylene spunbond fabrics. Currently, most non-woven fabrics on the market are produced by the spunbond method. So what is spunbond non-woven fabric?

Spunbonded non-woven fabric is a kind of non-woven fabric, which is formed by extruding and stretching the polymer to form continuous filaments, then laying the filaments into a mesh, which is bonded by its own thermal, chemical or mechanical means.

What is the basic process flow of spunbonded nonwoven fabric?

1. Slice baking

Polymer chips obtained through granulation and casting of transmission belts typically contain a certain amount of moisture, which needs to be dried and removed before spinning.

2. Spinning

The spinning equipment and technology used in the spunbond method are basically the same as those used in chemical fiber spinning. The main equipment and accessories are screw extruders and spinnerets.

3. Stretch

The newly formed melt spun fibers (primary fibers) have low strength, high elongation, unstable structure, and do not possess the properties required for textile processing, requiring stretching.

4. Filamentation

The so-called splitting refers to separating the stretched tow into single fibers to prevent fibers from sticking or knotting during the web forming process.

5. Laying a net

(1) Air flow control

(2) Mechanical prevention and control

(3) After stretching and splitting, the filament needs to be evenly laid on the mesh curtain.

6. Suction net

By using suction screens, the downward airflow can be taken away and the rebound of the tow can be controlled. Therefore, there is a 20 centimeter thick vertical air distribution orifice plate under the mesh curtain to prevent reverse airflow from blowing onto the mesh. A pair of windproof rollers are arranged at the suction boundary in the forward direction of the fiber mesh. The upper roller has a larger diameter and is relatively smooth, and is equipped with a cleaning knife to prevent the roller from getting entangled. The lower roller has a smaller diameter and is usually clamped with a rubber roller to form a mesh curtain. The auxiliary suction duct directly sucks in the airflow pressure network, thereby controlling the fiber network to attach to the mesh curtain.

7. Reinforcement

Reinforcement is the final process, which enables the mesh to have certain strength, elongation, and other properties to meet product requirements.
